This album is intended to simulate a library containing a number of bookcases, each with several shelves. Each shelf holds albums covering different subjects. Each album may have up to three levels of indexes before you reach the actual photographs. The upper-level index displays a set of thumb prints, each generally relating to a particular topic, together with a brief description of the material covered in that topic. If there are three indexes the second level index will have a similar format. The lowest-level index (if present) shows thumb prints of the actual photographs. The individual items in the album are usually photographs, displayed in a standard format, but they can also be information pages like this. The albums are reached through one or more levels of directories (corresponding to the bookcases and bookshelves in the library). Each directory will generally only have a single level index and each item in the directory can be another directory, an album or an information page. There is generally an introductory page for each album and directory. |
If you want to go directly to the main index click on the thumbprint, but if you want to see the introductory page click on the title. Every page has three navigation keys in the bottom lefthand corner. You can move horizontally through the given level using the left and right arrow keys. You can move to the level above by clicking the UP arrow, and you can move to the level below by clicking one of the thumb prints on the page. When you reach the limits of the level the corresponding keys are greyed out. At the top level the UP arrow is red. For example you might select a particular subject, move down to the individual thumb prints, and then move backwards and forwards through the album. Whenever you find an interesting image you can select it, and then either scan backwards and forwards through the individual photos, or go back to the thumb prints and look for another interesting photo. If a picture has an interesting story a link to the story will be displayed on the bottom righthand corner of the page. |
